Episode 27_-2.jpg

Roger and Serena are a married couple, living in Canada. They met quite early in their life and experienced a lot together since then. As they’re coming from different backgrounds and continents they have an interesting life story to tell: Serena was born in Genova, Italy. She grew up in Milan and moved to Canada at the age of 16 because her father got a job offer with the Canadian government. Back then, Serena was a goth. She went to High School in Canada and struggled to find an identity. Roger is originally from “a rock in the middle of the Atlantic” (Newfoundland). Roger’s mom was in a wheelchair since his childhood. He learned early on in his life to take responsibility. Today, Roger describes himself as an extrovert. He studied accounting and worked in this profession for about 5 years. Later he switched to sales. Serena studied Political Science, Mass Communications and Literature. She did her PhD and has been working as a lecturer in Sociology for 10 years.

In this interview, Roger and Serena share their insights and learnings from their life so far. You can learn from Serena how to handle the language barrier as a teenager when moving to a foreign country. You can learn from Roger what it means to take responsibilities and what the term “to fall upwards” means. Furthermore, they’re telling about their time living like rockstars in Heidelberg, Germany. During this time they met Ben. If you are looking for advice on how to find your identity and if you want to find out more about their wisdom on being in a happy relationship for such a long time, listen to this inspiring interview. “Listening and learning from each other is key for personal development and success.”
