Unpopular People Hosts
The Unpopular People Podcast is hosted by Ben & Elisa, world citizens who met at the airport FFM in 2018. Ben was flying to New Zealand and Elisa to South East Asia.
Combining their passion for music and fashion they decided to leave their jobs in Germany behind in order to live their dream and become self-employed while traveling the world.
It did not take long to realise that they have much in common. In 2019 they decided to share their life together and to start a podcast to showcase the interviews of the the people that they met on their journey.
Elisa Fein
Elisa was born in Hamm, Germany. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Engineering & Management from Saxion University of Applied Science, Netherlands.
Elisa spent a lot of time traveling through Germany because she worked for more than 10 years in the apparel industry for several fashion brands in sales and marketing.
Elisa decided to quit her job in 2018 in order to discover countries, cultures and people while traveling. On her journey she met many interesting people. These wonderful characters have a lot to tell. So, she decided to start “Unpopular People” together with Ben. This project allows her to combine her passion for people, travel, design, and marketing.

Ben Fein
Ben is a world citizen originally from Heidelberg, Germany, raised in a family with a huge love for music. He has been making music since childhood and sharing it publicly since 2014. Alongside the music he studied business, then spent a decade at BASF, one of the largest companies in the world, in IT services, financial controlling and cost reporting. In 2015 he left corporate life to focus on his own projects and travel, crossing paths with like-minded creative people in more than fifty countries along the way. Together with Elisa he founded Unpopular People to connect people from all over the world, because he believes everyone can learn from one another.
Today Ben lives in Ōtautahi Christchurch, Aotearoa New Zealand, with Elisa and their young son. He co-founded Hegel & Fein, which helps organisations find out how they actually work and build the systems, processes and reporting to match – from creative venues and festivals to the health and disability sector. He co-directed XCHC, a community creative space in Christchurch, and founded Stadtmusik, a seasonal festival series in the city. He still produces electronic music.

Our Philosophy
As we believe that everybody has something incredible to share with the world, we spread the message that we feel socially responsible for others, the economy, and the environment (human social responsibility).
Everybody is individual. People can learn from and motivate each other by sharing their successes and failures. We demonstrate that we are unpopular people who are swimming against the mainstream.
